So today I want to give you four more thoughts from Watson.

The question is this:  How do we glorify God?
7.  “We Glorify God by being CONTENTED in that state in which providence has placed us.” Here’s a great quote from that section: “We give God the glory for his wisdom, when we rest satisfied with what he carves out for us.”

I have a concern. I was having lunch with Mark Dever (pastor at Capital Hill Baptist) recently and he said something that made me start thinking:

“Often, the first generation of Christians grab hold of the gospel, the second generation of Christians tend to assume the gospel, and the third generation of Christian abandons the gospel.”

I see many people in the second category—people…

Here are some more thoughts for today from a dead guy named Watson.

If you have not seen the past 2 posts here they are: part 1, part 2

Here are 2 more points on how to aim at glorifying God with your life.

Here is a great quote…

Scheff sings part 2

For those that are a little confused by my last post or those who think I need to get my hearing checked, 2 things:  Scott can’t sing and I’ve never liked American Idol.

Here’s what really happened.  While Devon (who leads worship at Na) and Jeremy White (producer for Nap records) were working on the latest CD by Nap records (Lord willing to be released in May at the conference) they decided to play a joke on Scott (staff director for Na).

Devon and Jeremy asked Scott to come into the studio, they said, because…

Scheff sings

Ok, so I want to let you in on something we are pretty excited about here at Na.  Our staff director Scott Schefferstein has always dreamed about being on American Idol.  So here is a clip of his debut.  Lets pray that this really puts Sovereign Grace music on the map.

Stay tuned for more.

Enjoy.

Okay, here are a couple more truths from an old dead theologian. Thomas Watson Continues the list I started yesterday.

3. “We aim at God’s glory with our life when we are CONTENT to be outshined by others in gifts and esteem so that his glory may be increased”.

(Ouch.)

4. “We aim at God’s glory by an honest and sincere confession of sin.”…

A few weeks ago I sat down with C.J. and Josh and talked about the message topics for this year’s conference. It was a great conversation.

Personally, I’m really excited that we’re going to spend 4 days learning from CJ, Josh, Al Mohler, Mark Dever and John Piper about the Bible--some of the men that have influenced me on my understanding of the Bible the most. We’re about…

read Jon’s article

I hope you got a chance to read Jon’s article on caring for people who are suffering. Jon is one of the pastors I have the privilege to serve within our church’s singles ministry and I can say that there is nobody I respect more in their walk with God than Jon and and his wife Jenni.  As they continue to walk through this test of suffering…

field study

So I gotta share a picture taken by Matt Wahl (our design guru).

It was out in a field under some power lines. (Yes, those lights are lit. No, it’s not photoshopped)

Check it out.

If you live near power lines and want to try this I think you may need some protective head gear or something.  Google it.
