Meet Nathan Sasser
Mar. 25 2008If you haven’t already you should check out our friend Nathan Sasser’s article on Gospel and Worldview. He’s one of our favorite guys because of his sharp mind and humble heart. Our editor Ricky caught him for a couple questions.
_______
Ricky: Why are you passionate about teaching others about a biblical worldview?
Nathan: Viewing everything in relation to the triune God and his sovereign plan for history opens up our eyes to God’s majesty. Also, it’s only when we really believe that “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” are found in the Christ of Scripture that he has absolute authority in our lives.
Last year I got to be involved with Sovereign Grace Ministries’ worldview conference The Clash, and these were two of the things I enjoyed about it. We had wonderful times of worship in response to rich teachings on God and his mighty acts which are in display even in the fields of science, government, art, and philosophy. I think people that came also had an increased trust and excitement about the Word of God, as they saw how Scripture makes sense out of the entire world.
Ricky: Why are you passionate about studying?
Nathan: To whatever extent I am passionate about it, it’s because I want to know God more. In John 17:3 Jesus says that eternal life is to know God the Father and his Son. I can only know God through Christ, and I only know Christ through Scripture, and Scripture demands study.
Ricky: Eric said you don’t like the Beatles. Why aren’t the Beatles a real rock band?
Nathan: I’m not even going to answer that. Ricky, do you still have the “High School Musical” soundtrack on your iPod?
_____
Check out Nathan’s article.
(Ricky wants to point out that the soundtrack in question was never on his iPod, only in his iTunes library and that the reason for it is too complicated to explain here)

Jimmy on Sun Mar 30, 2008 at 7:12 pmNathan,
I had deep respect for your theological prowess until the issue of the Beatles came up. I find it difficult to reconcile a dislike of the Beatles with a sound grasp of theology…

Not to be ignorant, but what IS “High School Musical” all about?!
