Allie Noske. Na 07.
New Attitude 2007 completely changed life as I knew it. For the first time, I was able to understand that grace has nothing to do with me and my performance and everything to do with our wonderful Savior.
I got saved when I was eight years old, but finally, after ten years of condemning myself for my sin, I was able to let go of my pride and accept the gift the Lord has presented to me through His Son’s sacrifice. Every day before Na 07 I had been punishing myself for my sin and trying to “fix” myself. After C.J.’s message “The Idol Factory”, I completely melted in a pile of tears on the floor as God changed my heart of pride into one that can accept, and even ask, for grace.
My life has been changed since that night at the conference. God put my heart in a place to give up the sin I had been enslaved to, including quitting smoking. Now, not only am I not punishing myself for my sin, but the Lord has pulled me out of the downward spiral of sinning and then punishing myself for the sin by sinning some more. I am so aware of my need for the Gospel and am overwhelmed constantly by the amazing fact that I’m forgiven and that all wrath as been removed from me! The song “Now I’m singing freedom for all of my days/ it’s only by the power of the cross I’m raised/ the King of glory rescued me!” has been the song that characterizes my life post-NA 07.
