Anna Scruggs. Na 07.
I came to Na in 2007 because my best friend and accountability partner from grad school and I were looking to spend some time together, and thought a Christian conference recommended by Boundless.org being held exactly equidistant between our two cities was a good choice. My background involved churches that would center their teachings on the Word, but unfortunately lacked depth and mostly spoke from experience and common sense as much as they did from the Bible. At Na for the first time I sat under solid preaching that really examined the Word in depth for its value as God’s Word, and not just as pieces here and there to help with a good life. It was wonderful, and the times of worship really gave me a taste of what it will be like one day when all peoples gather to praise Him.
I left Na committed to finding a new church where this kind of solid teaching would be the norm instead of the rare treat. I came back to NA in 2008 after spending a year at a local church which preached the Word in depth, and found that I gained even more from the teachings thanks to the knowledge base I began growing with NA 2007. Now I just wish NA 2009 would hurry up and arrive!
