Hosanna Hanson. Na 02.
My first New Attitude was January 2002. I was a senior at Iowa State University and had one semester left. The prior summer, I visited a close friend in Denver. She attended a Sovereign Grace Church there and I was amazed at their genuine walk with God and desire to grow closer to Him.
Church life was not unfamiliar to me. I grew up in an evangelical church and was saved at the age of 5. My life was encompassed in church and continued as I graduated high school and went to college. I became a leader in our college ministry of 800 students and lead small groups and discipled ladies but it wasn’t until the summer before NA, when I overheard a conversation with my friend and her pastor, that I knew I was missing something. The pastor asked her what God had been teaching her in her time with God and what were some ways he could pray for her. Wow! My whole life has been in church and I was involved in every ministry available, but I never had a pastor care for my soul as her pastor did. The passion and love for God displayed through the questions he asked, was something I wanted.
She invited me to NA that following January and I went. I was graduating in May, and I knew that where I found a job God would provide a church. But as I sat in Mark Dever’s session on the importance of the local church, God began to change me. I sat listening to why the local church should be your priority when making decisions in your life. And God altered my perspective. After that session, I knew that I was moving to Denver to be a part of the Sovereign Grace Church, to be a part of a group of believers who wanted more of God, to be at a place where I would be fed the truth and encouraged to grow deeper.
New Attitude ended and graduated in May. The following August, I moved to Denver without a job and joined the Sovereign Grace Church. In God’s faithfulness, he provided a wonderful job and blessed me far beyond what I hoped.

Hosanna,
It is so awesome to see how God was working on your life at that time and has continuously been faithful to provide. I’m so glad that Grace Church Frisco was able to steal you away from Denver! We are so blessed by the way you serve in the church and in the singles group.
